Life can be challenging. Are you feeling low, depressed, anxious or sad? Have you experienced life changing events that you are struggling to come to terms with? Would talking things over help to bring back some perspective?
I work with both adults and young people. I work with addiction, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, loss and bereavement, self harm, suicidal thoughts, relationship problems and many other of life's issues that might bring you into therapy. Is the start to a new year urging you to revaluate your life, your job or your relationships? Would talking to somebody who is independent, kind and non judgemental, help you to make much needed changes in your life? Have you recently retired and find yourself floundering? Does life suddenly feel very empty? If you're not sure whether counselling is right for you, contact me and we'll have a chat.

I am based in West Winterslow, which is ideally placed between Salisbury, Wiltshire and Andover, Hampshire. It is a calm, idyllic location with country views and free parking. One to one online sessions are available nationwide.
I also work outside, by offering walk and talk therapy to my clients. We meet up in my local woods and walk and talk for 60 minutes. Not only do you get the chance to talk but you can get some fresh air and exercise, all very good for our wellbeing.
I am a NCS registered counsellor and work within the NCS Ethical Framework. By being registered I adhere to high standards of proficiency and good practice. This means my practice has been deemed to meet the standard of a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.

How do I work?
I am a Humanistic counsellor. This means that, whilst working with you, I will show you unconditional positive regard, I will not judge you. I will help guide you to find your own way forward and fulfil your full potential. Together we will explore your own conditions of worth and your own values. If appropriate I also work holistically by braiding in mind, body and spirit. I will provide a safe space for you to visit each week, where you will be able to explore such feelings as anger, sadness, confusion and negative thoughts. Our work together will empower you to become the very best version of yourself.
My Counselling Qualifications.
My qualifications are accredited by the UK’s Counselling Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body, CPCAB, and I work under the ethical framework of the NCS. The spiritual side of my qualifications were gained through an approved CPCAB spiritual counselling course operated in Glastonbury – the foremost spiritual centre in the UK. I completed my Level 2 in Counselling Skills and Level 3 in Counselling Studies with Sweet Track Counselling and my Diploma in Bournemouth, Redlands Counselling Training, where I studied Integrative Counselling, which is a combination of Person-Centered, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. I have completed the Certificate of Proficiency with the BACP and am registered with the NCS. An obligation of my training was to work with an independent counsellor and so I have experienced, first hand, what it is like to undergo personal work in a safe and supportive environment.
I am also trained in Motivational Enhancement Therapy, a form of motivational interviewing which enables the client to focus on change
Other training includes:
Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice.
Trauma and the Body Dissociation and Somatisation (Online)

MY COUNSELLING EXPERIENCE
I work with adults and young people. I worked as a Voluntary Counsellor with Turning Point for many years, where I gained vast experience working with both Drug and Alcohol Addiction. I worked as a Voluntary Counsellor with Young Peoples Counselling Service in Basingstoke, where I experienced all the difficulties young people experience whilst facing the challenges of puberty. I am also competent in generic counselling, relationships, work issues, stress, low self esteem, lack of self confidence, anxiety, trauma, depression, loss and bereavement plus many more issues that affect us daily.
I embark on monthly supervision and continue my learning by attending training workshops, podcasts, reading regularly.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A COUNSELLOR IN THE SALISBURY AREA?
I am situated in West Winterslow, approximately 6 miles East of Salisbury, in a quiet rural location. My therapy room is on the ground floor and is calm, bright and airy with a pleasant country view. I have plenty of free parking outside the premises.
Appointments are available between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 11am on Saturday. I encourage weekly counselling sessions because I believe this builds a better working and therapeutic relationship, but I am also able to work at your speed and frequency if you feel that you would still benefit.
